When printing out your resume for your interview, use white or ivory paper. Never use colored paper as this will deem you as unprofessional. As obvious as it sounds, some people actually do this. Another common mistake is using colored fonts in your resume. This will also deem you unprofessional and somewhat immature, and this is not the first impression that you want a potential employer to have of you.

Never fret if your resume is longer than one page. If it is longer than one page, make it longer only because your qualifications are so long. When printing out a multiple page resume, never print on the front and back of the page, and don"t number the pages of your resume. Also, no personal handwriting should be on your resume.

After you"ve printed your resume out, don"t rush and get it immediately. You want it to sit on the printer for a few minutes so that the ink won"t smudge on parts of the paper. And when handing your resume over to your employer, you want to make sure that your resume doesn"t have any smudge marks on it either.

Always bring at least 2 copies of your resume to your interview. Many people think just because an employer has your resume that you don"t need to print it out. This is a false misconception and should not be held true. You should always bring several resumes because multiple people may be there to interview you, and you will want your resume on hand to give to them.

With these extra resumes on hand, you will be looked upon as professional, prepared and organized - and this is the first impression that you want your employer to have on you.

On your resume, you will want to include a list of references also. This is typically found at the bottom of your resume, and should include their title along with their phone number. If you include a list of references on your resume, then it will show that you are prepared and truly interested in the job.
