One of the many annoyances that people get in this economic trough these days could well go to the one rejection after another of the cover letters. This recession has definitely left millions unemployed. Even the most talented and qualified people find it a much frustrating experience to send all those pointless cover letters which don"t even seem cause a ripple back . Do you have the same feelings when each time you want to send a cover letter in exactly the same way as before? Maybe all you need is a change.

Believe it or not, there are many people who are asking the question "what does a resume look like?" While it might seem like a silly question to some people, there really are some people out there who haven"t seen a resume and don"t know what one looks like. They may be people who have been working factory jobs and have never needed a resume before, or kids just out of school with no clue where to start on their job search with new degree in hand.

Now a lot of you are not familiar with this type of letter. So first we will begin by explaining what one is and what it can do for you:

What is a Cover Letter:

It is a letter of introduction generally attached to a Resume.

Why is a Cover Letter Essential?

It allows you to introduce yourself to a potential employer and build rapport and trust before the initial interview.

Now that we got that out of the way we will now go over the basics of writing a professional cover letter.

1. In the center of the page you want to type your name, address, phone and email.

2. Align text to the left. Add the date

3. To whom it may concern.

4. Next you want a strong opening statement showing your interest:

I am extremely interested in the administrative industry.

5. Next paragraph you want to go over the experience you currently have and why its relevant to the position you are applying.

6. The next 1-2 paragraphs you want to go into further detail about your experiences as well as best qualities such as: Competitive person, Work well under stress, Always looking for a challenge... I think you get the idea.

7. The last paragraph is your closing paragraph. Here is where you request to setup an appointment to discuss further job possibilities within the industry.

8. End with:

Now I know that is a readers digest version of how to actually write one. There are many software programs that can also assist you with writing a great cover letter that I would recommend as well.
