Get a Job Interview Using Your 30/60/90-Day Plan!

As a Sales Recruiter, I recommend to all my candidates that they create a 30-60-90-day sales plan to present to hiring managers or hiring teams during job interviews.Ň  Simply put, a 30-60-90-day sales plan is a document that spells out how you will spend your time in the first 30 days, the first 60 days, and the first 90 days on your new job.Ň  To do one correctly, you have to research the position and the company, and you have to analyze the job so that you can lay out the steps to success.Ň  It takes some effort, but the results are almost always worth it in terms of great job offers.

Rehabilitation Therapy Jobs

With the increasing demand for rehabilitation and care for the physically challenged and the aged population in the US, almost all healthcare providers here are offering rehabilitation therapy services aimed at securing efficient and immediate cure for patients. With more and more patients approaching healthcare firms for therapy services, the need for qualified professionals in Physical therapy (PT), Occupational therapy (OT) and Speech Language Pathology (SLP) is increasing rapidly.

When writing, remember that you are dealing with a human being, as well as, an organization or institution that already has a very specific idea as to what its needs are. It is your mission to zero in on that need, and addressing it.

In these times of surplus labor, there is no shortage of websites, books and other publications providing ň€śDo-It-Yourselfň€ť letter samples and templates. Now, while examining these can be educational, actually using any of them is a bad idea ň€“ for several reasons.

First, the letter is about you. A Hollywood acting instructor might tell his students seeking film roles: ň€śNobody can play you better than you.ň€ť The same can be said for writing. Nobody can write your unique voice ň€“ and during times in which you are but one of an army of jobseekers, uniqueness is an asset that you cannot be without.

Secondly, your letter needs to address particulars, i.e. a specific organization and especially a specific position. Obviously, the people who come up with sample letters and templates have no way of knowing what you are applying for or to which organization. Furthermore, believe it or not, organizations (particularly for-profit corporations) have egos. The human who actually represents the company wants to know that the applicant:

(A) Took the time and effort to learn something about the company

(B) Actually cared enough to find out what the job was and what the position entailed

Thereň€™s a practical aspect to this as well. Each job requires specific skills, training and credentials. Writing a cover letter for ň€śjust anythingň€ť (as in the example above) strongly suggests that the writer lacks such prerequisites.
